In her working process Fanny Oehmichen gains acess to sensibility via the material and its tactile quality. She has been researching the possibilities of ceramics and sculpture in close connection to found objects and their ability to storytelling and being protagonists in the space.

Oehmichen's work furthermore explores the topics of vulnerability and protection, two topics that arise as a natural consequence to the fragility of the material. The tension between being able to see and being denied the view on objects also has been an interest to the artist in her recent work.
